Terms of Use
Last updated: 22 July 2026
The short version
This is a personal website. Read it, quote it, link to it. Journalists can use the press kit for coverage. Don't scrape it, don't pass my work off as yours, don't use my name or photographs to suggest I endorse something I don't. Nothing here is professional advice. If we fall out about any of this, it's a matter for the English courts.
The full terms are below. They apply whenever you use joeseddon.com. If you don't accept them, don't use the site.
1. Who runs this site
joeseddon.com is operated by Joe Seddon of 20 Garrett Street, London, EC1Y 0TW. In these terms, "I", "me" and "my" mean me, and "you" means you, the visitor.
To get in touch about anything on this page, use the contact form.
Zero Gravity is a separate organisation with its own website and its own terms. This site is personal and is not Zero Gravity's.
2. Who owns what's here
Unless it says otherwise, everything on this site — the words, the design, the code, the layout, the photographs — is owned by me or licensed to me, and protected by copyright and other rights.
You may, without asking:
- read the site, and print or save pages for your own personal, non-commercial use
- link to any page on the site
- quote short extracts, with a credit and a link back, in the ordinary way people quote things
You may not, without written permission:
- republish substantial parts of the site elsewhere
- copy the design, code or layout
- use anything here in a commercial product, or in AI training data
- present my work as your own
"Joe Seddon" as a name and personal brand, and any logos and marks on this site, are mine or my licensors'. Nothing here gives you the right to use them except as set out in the press kit licence below. Zero Gravity's name and marks belong to Zero Gravity, and permission to use them comes from Zero Gravity, not from me — the press kit includes them by arrangement, on the terms below.
3. The press kit — what journalists may do
The Media page links to a press kit containing biographies, high-resolution photographs, a fact sheet, and Zero Gravity brand assets. It's there to save you a round of emails on deadline. Here's exactly what you're getting.
The licence
Subject to the rest of this clause, I grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, revocable licence to reproduce and publish the press kit materials, in any medium, for editorial use in connection with genuine news, journalism or commentary about Joe Seddon or Zero Gravity.
In plain terms: if you're writing about me or about Zero Gravity, use the photos, use the bio, use the facts. No need to ask.
That covers news reports and features, broadcast segments, podcast artwork and show notes, event programmes and speaker listings for events I'm actually appearing at, academic and educational use, and the online versions and archives of any of those.
What you must do
- Credit photographs where a credit is indicated. Where a photograph in the kit carries a photographer credit, publish it with the image.
- Use the current version. The kit is updated; the figures and biography in it are the ones that are accurate.
- Keep it accurate. Don't use the materials in a way that misrepresents who I am, what Zero Gravity does, or the facts in the kit.
What you may not do
- Alter the photographs. Cropping and standard, non-substantive colour or exposure correction to fit your layout is fine. Retouching, compositing, adding elements, removing elements, filters that change what the image shows, or generating derivative or synthetic images from them, is not.
- Imply endorsement. Nothing in the kit may be used to suggest that I, or Zero Gravity, endorse, sponsor, recommend or are associated with any product, service, organisation, campaign, candidate or cause. Using a photograph next to your product is not editorial use.
- Use it commercially. No advertising, marketing, promotional material, merchandise, packaging, or anything where the materials help sell something. Illustrating a news story about me is editorial. Illustrating your brochure is not.
- Resell or redistribute it. Don't sell the materials, license them on, add them to a stock library, or put them in an asset bank for others to draw on.
- Use it out of context. Don't use my image or name to illustrate a story that isn't about me or Zero Gravity — as generic imagery, as a stand-in, or as an example of something.
- Use it to train AI models, or to generate synthetic images, audio or video of me. To be explicit: no deepfakes, no voice cloning, no synthetic likeness of any kind.
- Register or claim rights in it, or in the name "Joe Seddon" or the Zero Gravity marks.
Who is granting what — two different sets of assets
The press kit contains two kinds of material, and they don't come from the same place. They're labelled separately in the kit.
My personal assets — photographs of me, my biography, the fact sheet, and the name "Joe Seddon". These are mine, and the licence above is granted by me personally.
Zero Gravity assets — the Zero Gravity name, logo, and brand marks. These belong to Zero Gravity, not to me. Where they appear in this kit I am making them available in my capacity as Zero Gravity's Chief Executive, not in a personal capacity, and their use is governed by Zero Gravity's own brand guidelines as well as these terms. If the two ever conflict on a Zero Gravity asset, Zero Gravity's guidelines win.
The practical consequence: permission for anything beyond editorial use of a Zero Gravity asset has to come from Zero Gravity. I can't grant it personally, and nothing here should be read as if I had.
The small print on the licence
I keep ownership of my own materials. You get permission to use them, not the thing itself. Some photographs are licensed to me by their photographers, and my ability to sub-license them is limited by their terms — the credit requirement is part of that.
I can withdraw this licence at any time by writing to you. If I do, stop using the materials in anything new. You don't have to take down material already published in good faith before then.
If you want to do something this licence doesn't cover — and if you're wondering, it probably doesn't — ask. Use the contact form and pick "Media". Permission for anything outside the terms above must be in writing from me.
4. Links to other sites
The Media page links to roughly 140 articles, broadcasts, podcasts and profiles published by other people. There are links elsewhere on the site too.
Those links are there because the coverage exists, not as an endorsement. I don't control those sites, I didn't write those articles, and I'm not responsible for their content, their accuracy, their advertising, or what they do with your data once you click through.
The copyright in those articles belongs to the publishers, not to me. Headlines, extracts and thumbnails are shown to identify and link to the original — normal referencing. If you want to reproduce one of those articles, ask the publisher.
If you're a publisher and you'd rather your article wasn't linked or your thumbnail wasn't shown, use the contact form and I'll take it down.
5. Accuracy, and what this site isn't
I try to keep the site accurate and up to date, but I don't promise that it is. Figures, dates and descriptions may go out of date. The site is provided as it is, without any warranty.
Nothing on this site is professional advice. Not legal advice, not financial or investment advice, not careers or admissions advice, not educational guidance for any individual student. Views expressed in any writing, posts or talks linked from here — including anything on my Substack — are my personal opinion at the time of writing, and not the position of Zero Gravity, of any board or organisation I sit on, or of anyone else.
If you need advice about your own situation, get it from someone qualified who knows your circumstances. Don't act on something you read here without doing that.
I don't promise the site will always be available, or free of errors or interruptions. I may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.
6. Limits on liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes my liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded
Subject to that:
- I'm not liable for any loss you suffer from relying on the content of this site, or from being unable to use it.
- If you're using the site in the course of a business, I'm not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of revenue, business interruption, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss.
- If you're using the site as a consumer, none of this affects your statutory rights, and I'm only liable for loss that is a foreseeable result of my breaking these terms.
7. What you must not do with this site
Don't:
- scrape, crawl, harvest or systematically extract content from the site by automated means, or use its content to train machine learning or AI models, except that well-behaved search engine crawlers obeying
robots.txtare welcome - use the site for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful
- try to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, or any connected system; probe or test its security; or get around any security measure
- introduce malware, or attack the site — including denial-of-service attacks
- overload the site with automated requests, or misuse the contact form to send spam, bulk messages or anything abusive
- copy, mirror or frame the site, or any substantial part of it
Misusing the site may be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. Where it is, I'll report it, and I'll cooperate with the authorities in identifying who's responsible. I may block access to anyone breaking these rules.
If you've found a genuine security vulnerability, report it through the contact form rather than exploiting it. Report it in good faith, give me a reasonable chance to fix it, and don't access or alter anyone's data — do that and I won't come after you.
8. The contact form
Sending me a message doesn't create a contract, and it doesn't oblige me to reply, to accept an enquiry, to appear at your event, or to do anything else. I read what comes in. I can't promise to answer everything.
Anything you send is not confidential. Don't send me confidential information, trade secrets, or anything under an NDA through a web form.
Don't send unsolicited ideas, pitches or proposals. If you do anyway, you agree that I'm under no obligation of confidence in respect of them, and that I'm free to develop, use or work on similar ideas without owing you anything. This isn't me claiming ownership of your idea — it's me making clear that receiving an unsolicited pitch doesn't create a relationship or a restriction that wasn't there before.
Any agreement about speaking, media or partnership work is made separately, in writing, and not through this site.
9. Your privacy
How your data is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy. Both form part of these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The current version always sits on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top. Changes take effect when they're posted, and continuing to use the site means you accept them. Worth a glance if you're relying on the press kit licence — that's the clause most likely to change.
11. General
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
If I don't enforce something straight away, that doesn't mean I've given up the right to enforce it later.
These terms are between you and me. Nobody else can enforce them, except that photographers whose work is in the press kit may enforce the credit and no-alteration requirements in clause 3 in respect of their own photographs.
12. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of this site — including non-contractual disputes — are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you're a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK you live in, and you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of that jurisdiction.
