Joe is originally from Morley in West Yorkshire. After graduating from the University of Oxford with a First Class degree in PPE, Joe founded Access Oxbridge, a digital mentoring app which connected Oxbridge applicants from low-income backgrounds with undergraduate mentors. Within a year of launch, Access Oxbridge grew into one of the UK’s most successful social mobility programs with 100+ students winning offers from Oxford and Cambridge University.
Since then, Joe has transformed Access Oxbridge into Zero Gravity, a digital social enterprise which extends the power of one-to-one mentorship to more highly-selective universities. Joe has been featured across the British media, and has delivered lectures on social entrepreneurship at a number of the UK’s leading universities. He has been recognised by the Prime Minister with a social impact award, and is a frequent radio and television pundit on the topics of social mobility and the role of technology in society.
